We are moving office! Come and visit us at our new ground floor studio at Axe & Bottle Court, 70 Newcomen Street, SE1 1YT.
We welcome Charlotte Hurley, Rana Rehman and Alex Palmer to our team this month. Growth continues!
Our Wroughton Road project featured in Grand Designs special edition- it is good to be getting some recognition for our projects. A great testmonial from the editors to boot- '.....this young firm can help transform regular houses into something incredible...'
Our project on Harley Gardens is nearing completion after a year and a half on site. The basement and full rebuild in largely complete awaiting final second fix and is looking incredible! As one rises up through the building you become aware of the frameless ridge light at the top of the stairs- absolute pure sky above with no-one watching! Watch this space......
Work has begun on our facade retention scheme on Portobello Road. It is with great pleasure that we get to work in collaboration with the exceptionally talented Tom Raffield (www.tomraffield.com) on the stairs and lighting for this house. Watch this space- this is going to be a great project!
Following a committee hearing and despite 18 objections from local neighbors planning consent has been granted for our new build house on Webbs Road. This is a very good example of how we can work closely with both the design and planning officers to achieve exceptional results on an extremely tight and complex site- the owners now have planning permission for both a 3 bed flat in the existing building and a new contemporary 3 bed house to the rear. Good work Sam Aldridge and team!
We are very happy that Richard has rejoined the dust team after a short sabbatical working for a larger commercial firm. We look forward to using his expertise on a number of our high end commercial projects in Central London. Welcom back Richard! We are now 11 strong- 9 architectural and 2 administration staff- growth continues!
Dust have been appointed to convert an existing office into 10 flats- 2 of which will be positioned on the rooftop. A complex planning strategy to achieve this involving May 2013 PD laws as well as a new application for the penthouses. We are also working closely with M&S on their design requirements. The building is about 150 yards away from the 5 new build houses and 4 flats going into the old Police Station on Crystal Palace Road.
This was a dilapidated but stunning Grade II listed building in the heart of Soho- it has now been fully restored to it's former quirky self with some modern interventions- a good example of contemporary conservation work and a pleasure to work on. It has taken us 3 years and aorund 16 listed building applications to get it to this stage and we are very proud to have it almost complete.
