We were pleased to receive planning permission for the development of two new-build houses and a small 3-bed maisonette in East Dulwich after only a single application to Southwark Council. Our clients, who live at the far end of the road, wanted to reinterpret the existing street scene in a modern way. We’ve done this by simple yet effective means with frameless glass bay windows in place of traditional timber, and by breaking up the roofline with sleek, aluminium-clad dormers. The idea is that these homes will be sensitive to their surroundings by referencing the historic houses in the area, but at the same time are very much a product of the 21st century. The project will start onsite in Spring 2018.
