Blakeney Bird Hide

d u s t architecture have designed a series of ‘bird pods’ to be sited along the North Norfolk Coast in the dunes

Our design skills were drafted in for a series of new bird hides along the North Norfolk Coastline – a stretch of unspoilt land with sand dunes prone to coastal erosion and near constant change. It’s a hot spot for bird watchers who descend on the area for a glimpse of migrating African Swifts and Oystercatchers. Our bird hides, like the environment, shift and change depending on what an observer would like to see. Each timber structure has a pitched roof and upper windows with covers that prop open, while lower ledges open out for a glimpse of the wildlife without intruding on it.
