Damson Hill Cottage

Dust were delighted to assist our client to design their ‘forever home’ in the beautiful woods on the South Downs, working closely with the family to design a home filled with space for antiques, food, laughter and pets. The site is both beautiful and has a big slope, which posed a challenge and an opportunity in devising a solution.

The new extension is all timber, constructed from pre-fabricated structurally integrated panels to ease the build process for the self-build client and their children, with the interior lined in plywood and the exterior clad in locally sourced sweet chestnut. Materials are left noble with the new extension sitting alongside the lovingly restored and refurbished existing historic property.
