Rear ground floor extension with full internal reconfiguration
The refurbishment of a compact terraced house in Islington was slightly more complicated than originally expected, with major structural work required to bring half floor levels in line with main floors by removing and replacing all floor joists. Our team also proposed an infill extension to the lower ground floor, which used to be a coal store, and now is home to an enlarged kitchen and living space leading out to a new, tiled terrace. A small external balcony on the roof of the new infill extension has a skylight underfoot to brighten the living space below, and a glass balustrade accentuates the view while protecting the neighbours’ privacy.
